Every time I use Yahoo or Google to search for something, the results that are displayed have the correct header (or preview), but the actual web address is wrong. For example, if i search for ';Facebook';, the blue link SAYS Facebook, and even has the correct ';Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who ... Facebook helps you connect and share with the people in ... Facebook 漏 2009 ...'; header.....but it actually takes me to www.surfwax.com. This happens for anything I search on, using any search engine.

This is why it's a good idea to install a second layer of protection in software firewall in addition to the hardware one. Comodo Firewall is a good free one that you can get from here:

If they enroll someone, they get a referral fee and so do you, etc. through five levels of referrals. This is a theoretical question. I believe there are a lot of people who would like to do something to help the envoironment and make a positive contribution, but they don't know how they could afford to make a real tangible contribution. They are just struggling along financially themselves. Suppose you could join an ';Ecological-Network'; and have an opportunity to simply talk about viable alternatives in energy systems and lifestyle and make money when the people you talk to also join the Eco-Network? There are no minimum purchases, no inventory, no recurring monthly purchases, no financial obligations of any kind (I hate that kind of stuff). It would be simple....you join by purchasing a ';T'; shirt or ball cap, coffee mug, or bumperstickers (your choice). They all say something like...';I drive on Nuclear Fusion (Sun Power) Ask me how';. or, ';There are homes that use no fossil fuel for heating or cooling, ask me about it.'; When someone you spoke to joins, you get a referral fee. If they enroll someone, they get a referral fee and so do you, etc. through five levels of referrals. The ';T'; shirts, coffee mugs, ball caps, bumper stickers are all about alternative zero energy homes and electric cars and solar panels. I don't have that many friends in ';real life.'; I mean, I have a few really close friends that I hang out with a lot. I've known some of them since I was in high school. But I also have a lot of people that I just talk to online. I'm on a bunch of forums and websites...MySpace, Flickr, YouTube, etc. Sometimes it seems like I talk to people on the internet more than I do in person in my real life. There's a few people online I've actually become friends with and I've told them things I've never told people before. Except that of course I've never met them in real life.
On the internet, I've talked with people from different states and different countries all over the world. Then one day, it finally hit me...they're THOUSANDS of miles away. When I'm just driving around town and I drive across the city, that feels like a long distance. But even a city is just a tiny, microscopic part of the world. How to connect my Network?
Hello there, this is what i have:
1 Internet Router
2 8 Ports Switch
1 Wifi Router
What i want is:
Connect all my computers to the internet, and that every computer can see each other.
This is how i have it connected:
The internet router is connected to the port 1 of a 8 port switch, the other 8 port swith is connected in the 8th port to the 7th port of the first 8 port switch, the wifi is connected to the port 8 of the first 8PS, i have no problem with the internet, it works great, but im having problem with the people that connects to the wifi, they cant access the LAN, they dont see other computers, but the people that is connected via cable to any of the 8PS do see the other people connected to any 8PS. What can i do? how can i set it up? where do i have to use crossover cables? Im not using any crossover cable yet. Thanks!

First of all, most networks work from the top down. I'm not sure if you need two 8PS's or not, but if you do, then this is how I might configure them.
Please note, no crossover cable should be required for this. A crossover cable is typically used when linking two computers directly to one another, or can be used in creating a transparent link of sorts between special devices and a LAN. Sometimes they are used as a pass-through resource, but for your setup, I see no need for them.
Ok, so here we go. If I were you, my network would look like this.

I don't know if your router has a switch included in it or not? If so, I'd highly recommend connecting the WiFi AP to the router instead of 8PS#1. However, if you want to stick to your plan, then here is how I'd have things plugged in (though it shouldn't matter).
Router goes to 8PS#1 on port 1.
WiFi goes to 8PS#1 on port 2.
8PS#1 uses port 3 to connect into 8PS#2 on port 1.
It is important to note that you will only want one device acting as a DHCP server. If the WiFi clients are getting DHCP addresses from the WiFi device, then they won't be able to interact with anyone getting DHCP from your router. This is assuming the WiFi DHCP issues a different address range.
It also dangerous to run two DHCP servers on your network because, even if configured for the same range, they can issue duplicate IP addresses. You will then get conflicts on your network.
To gain a better understanding of DHCP, please refer to your router and WiFi AP setup guides. That way you can deploy it correctly.
Your question is somewhat complicated in nature... The networking isn't very hard, don't get my wrong, but there are many factors that may effect what you're trying to do. It would be very difficult to cover them all here.
A recommended approach. Rather than hooking everything up all at once, take it one device at a time.

Of course, it's irrational because the chances of been put in an awkward social situation is very low (unless you're nervous - it's like a self-fulfilling prophecy or whatever they call it... you get scared things will go wrong, and they will go wrong). That, and people tend to like you more if you talk.
There's several different ways to treat shyness:
1) Therapy (there's different types, such as group therapy) - if you're so shy though, it's understandable if you find this method intimidating and want to take a different route, even though this method is (supposed to be) the most effective way
2) Medicine - there's anti-anxiety drugs which will ease you into social situations and from there on you can overcome your fear, but I don't recommend this unless combined with therapy because it doesn't fix the root of the problem
3) Search the internet (Google 'overcoming shyness')
4) Take the path of self-therapy. This pretty much involves easing yourself - GRADUALLY - into social situations. For example, start saying 'hello' to people (first people you know, then complete strangers), start smiling more, maintain eye contact (don't look away unless the other person looks away, or if you start staring), maybe even making comments here and there in conversations or starting some small talk with your neighbour. Then work your way up, getting used to all sorts of different social situations, till you're no longer shy. This method is the method I took, but be warned that it does take time, persistence and patience. I've never underwent therapy/therapy+drugs, but I'm betting therapy would be a lot quicker.

I think that you are a highly sensitive person. Go to amazon and find books on being a HSP. Read the reviews and descriptions of the books before you order them.
HSP's have very thin skins and are very sensitive. I went though a phase in my life where I thought I was this way; however, I am not. I was just sorta down for a while.
In my opinion, HSP's would relate best to literary people (writers) and more reserved musicians who also tend to have highly sensitive spirits.

What has happened to you to make you feel this way it a better question, you really need some self esteem, if someone says anything belittling you, just ignore them, some people do come of as rude or aloof, but they are just checking out the other person and whether they can trust them, so I think you have trust issues, see a cousellor and hopefully they'll be able to help you, goodluck! :)

HSP's have very thin skins and are very sensitive. I went though a phase in my life where I thought I was this way; however, I am not. I was just sorta down for a while.
In my opinion, HSP's would relate best to literary people (writers) and more reserved musicians who also tend to have highly sensitive spirits.

What has happened to you to make you feel this way it a better question, you really need some self esteem, if someone says anything belittling you, just ignore them, some people do come of as rude or aloof, but they are just checking out the other person and whether they can trust them, so I think you have trust issues, see a cousellor and hopefully they'll be able to help you, goodluck! :)

It won't come like that, but make an effort to try to talk to people more... like when you go to the shop ask questions to shop people, and you'll see when they are very friendly you feel like doing the same thing more and more! Then it will go away and you won't be scared anymore ;)

How old are you? Get a job where you have to work with people. Maybe a cashier at a supermarket? It'll be ALOT easier to talk to random people on the street after awhile.

The Anti-Government Message Is Being Spread Through Sci-Fi/Fantasy Movies and books?
In recent days the LRC blog has been buzzing about the anti-government feel that permeates the hugely popular Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling. Reflecting on this I realized that this is just one part of a larger trend within the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre since the Bush administration has taken office. I do not intend to connect people鈥檚 view of Bush with anti-government Sci-Fi/Fantasy movies and books, but rather will just use his ascension into office as a time period in which to examine. The following is a partial list of popular movies and books within the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre that take an anti-government stance, even if that was not the intention of the writers, and have been released since the Bush administration took office.*
The Lord of the Rings: These three movies were based on books written in the 1950s, but since the movies came out recently I include them here. In this story J.R.R. Tolkien demonstrates that power can corrupt even the best of people. People who start out with good intentions can be seduced by this power until their primary goal becomes maintaining that power, and not the good intentions which motivated them to seek the power in the first place.
Star Wars Episodes I, II and III: These movies show the descent from Republic to Empire as the people gladly give up control to an evil government whose sole purpose is to consolidate its own power. These movies are a good demonstration of how government creates a crisis and then destroys liberty and grabs power in order to solve that crisis.
Serenity: This futuristic movie is based on the cult television series Firefly. Based loosely on the South following the War for Southern Independence, Firefly takes place following a war where the central planets of the universe forced all of the ';independent'; planets under their control in order to form the Alliance. This is one of the most anti-government movies/television shows I have ever seen. The main characters simply want the Alliance to leave them alone, but the Alliance wants complete control over everything. In Serenity the government has gone so far to control the population that they kill millions of people in an experiment to control peoples鈥?minds in order to build a ';perfect world.';
X-Men: Based on a widely popular comic book of the same name, these movies show a minority group of people known as mutants, who represent the next stage in evolution. As human nature compels people to fear what they don鈥檛 understand, the government passes the Mutant Registration Act, a Nazi style law which forces all mutants to register with the federal government. With the government unwilling to protect their rights many of the mutants form a group to fight back against the ';humans.'; As violence begets violence this escalates until the government develops a drug to destroy the mutant gene and begins forcefully injecting mutants. This tyrannical action can be equated very easily with forced sterilization. In the comic books, but not appearing in the movies, mutants and non-mutants are eventually sorted, tagged and placed in concentration camps in order to solve the ';mutant problem.';
V for Vendetta: This movie takes place in a totalitarian futuristic London. Following a terrorist attack, which was staged by members of the government, a fascist-style party takes control and begins eroding liberties in order to have security. First the government attacks the Muslims, then the homosexuals, and then everyone else as England is turned into a fascist police state.
Batman Begins: Far from the campy 1960鈥檚 Batman where the Dark Knight works to help Police Commissioner Gordon and D.A. Harvey Dent, in this version the city government is completely corrupt as cops, judges, doctors and councilmen are all on the payroll of criminal organizations.
Transformers: Though this movie is not outwardly anti-government it involves a secret government agency which conducts scientific studies that backfire and almost destroy the planet. Unfortunately the Secretary of Defense is portrayed as a good guy totally in the dark about all of this and in the end the President disbands the agency.
The Traveler: The International Best-selling book by John Twelve Hawks has been called ';A cyber 1984'; by The New York Times. In this book a group of power-hungry elites use the government to set up a worldwide electronic control grid, turning the world into a virtual prison. According to the author all of the technology used in this book currently exists or is being developed right now.
The Left Behind Series: Though it may be lost on the readers and even the writers, this series about the biblical end times demonstrates how evil men can gain control of government and use people鈥檚 good intentions to create a literal hell on Earth. Following a global crisis where all the world鈥檚 Christians disappear, the people of the world turn to the Global Community, an organization that grows out of the U.N. The newly elected leader of this government is the Anti-Christ, who uses fear to get everyone in the world to obey him and persecute dissenters. Though these books are poorly written, if read from a libertarian point of view they make a very good case for small government. However, I do not think that was the writers鈥?intention at all.

Shortly after Guttenberg invented the printing press could people have their words heard without too strong a fear of retribution, providing there was some anonymity I suppose.
You site so many examples that were pre-Bush and some after, and in some cases you have a valid point.

I am amazed that people can move to a new area and seem connected to people. It took me a long time to feel a connection and I still feel like an outsider looking in a lot of the times.
I have known some people a long time and just thought they always lived in this area and had family. When I found out they didn't and weren't from around here I was amazed at how connected to the community they seemed. Like they were at home.
I will always feel to connected to my original home and family.
It's an effort to feel connected to my new community even though I have been here many, many years.
I have a lot of friends here. I volunteer in the community, go to a church, associate and go out with many people in the area. But, I don't feel like I have any best, true deep down friends.

I just joined a Uni.. and i m finding it really hard connecting with anyone here.. and sitting alone for lunch breaks isn't really fun..How do you connect to the people around you?
The good old who, what, when, where and why. Ask questions and show people you are interested. for example you may ask... ';where did you get those shoes?'; and simply engage in a conversation from there. Always ask a little information but also share a little information yourself. For example you might share back ';I love that store, I got a really good sale there last week on a watch.'; If you want to keep the conversation going pose another question at the end like ';Do you go often?'; or ';Have you been there lately?';
It will take some practice getting comfortable with comunication skills, but over time you will learn interest in common wiht others and have more and more to talk about. Just remember, If your shy...they don't know that! Go right upto somebody and start a no reason conversation, you won't look crazy! If anything people will think your friendly and nice. Make sure when your sitting alone you look approachable too. You may be giving off a vibe that you don't want to be bothered with out even knowing it! Smile, make room for other people to sit, don't have all your junk around at the table, don't stick your face in a book or text on your phone, say hi if somebody walks past and you make eye contact... This will all help a lot!

So by time they get familar with you and maintain especially the communication between the last class before lunch time. So that the communication lasts until you arrive at the table. So you can seat yourself with your fellow.

The answer lies in my ability to negotiate with people and set healthy boundaries. The people that love me understand exactly what I'm saying.
Lots of people want my time, but I have to be able to tell them that certain times won't work for me. Negotiation skills are a must.
My Wife might ask me to fix something, but I am learning to say,

How do I make a web application connect two people?
For example I am making a simple board game (two options: javascript or java - still dont know which to chose). Define its tic-tac-toe. Player A connects to the table which has a number 125 in a database. Player B does so too. They start playing. The only way which I know how to make is to play this way:
Player A makes a move -%26gt; the information is sent to a server -%26gt; it is written to a database -%26gt; Player B gets a refreshed information every second -%26gt; Player B notices that Player A had moved.
The problem is, it uses server too much. How do I make an application in that way, that only the chosing of the table and then later the winner written to a database is done by a server while not loading it heavily with each move?
I have no idea how this connection to another user is done, but I know, that such things had been done in Skype. That means there is a method.

I was in a small play recently and as it was an all female cast we all bonded by having similar interests and just having fun.
it is tough to truly bond on a deeper level than the daily routine. Usually people try to find common interests to share and on that subject the deeper bonding can be a possibility as a starting point. But it requires your effort to make it work, show interest in what others do and think, make yourself want to know them better than you do and give them your attention more than you do. That will definitly increase your chances of bonding with other people, and hopefully they wont feel as strangers anymore. But remember: forming any relationship is a work in progress and you can't expect it to happen in 5 minutes, it takes effort and persistence, a wish to make real friends and the cooperation of your soon-to-be friends too..: ))

I was in a small play recently and as it was an all female cast we all bonded by having similar interests and just having fun.
it is tough to truly bond on a deeper level than the daily routine. Usually people try to find common interests to share and on that subject the deeper bonding can be a possibility as a starting point. But it requires your effort to make it work, show interest in what others do and think, make yourself want to know them better than you do and give them your attention more than you do. That will definitly increase your chances of bonding with other people, and hopefully they wont feel as strangers anymore. But remember: forming any relationship is a work in progress and you can't expect it to happen in 5 minutes, it takes effort and persistence, a wish to make real friends and the cooperation of your soon-to-be friends too..: ))

We we're wondering because i'm about 65 foot away from my Internet router[that's how long the cord is]. Could we Still play a LAN game with the Offline router? Ok.. well im a very non sociable person.. Im a loner that has no friends and basically doenst talk to anyone buy my family members. I dont really want to be this way but im very shy and i cant seem to get myself to talk to people and make friends. How do normal people connect with others to eventually become friends. I have joined clubs. I have even joined a community service fraternity, and poor naive little me thought people who wanted to do comm. serv. wouldn't be drunks.
But they are. Some of them were hungover when we did an event this morning.
What do I do? I don't hate people who drink, I just hate thrusting myself into the party lifestyle when I feel like an awkward loser. I just DON'T want to drink.
AND SERIOUSLY EVERYONE HERE DOES.

Just look for the person rolling their eyes at all the embarrassing drunks!!

You may want to consider only going to parties of folks that do not drink or only go to university run events. Consider joining a professional frat/sorority and only attend their professional events because many of them drink too as you have noted. Also consider joining the student alumni club or student government. Transferring won't help. Most American 4 year institutions are the same way.
Now..
If you just HAVE to be at regular college parties and be in the drinking environment then I suggest...
A) walking around with a cup of orange juice. Drunk people will assume its a screwdriver
Sprite works well too.
B) Tell folks that you are the DD. This works great.
C) Hold a drink even if you are not drinking it. Do this only if you have the will power to not cave and go against your anti-drinking values.
Regarding getting a BF, you're on your own with that. I suggest changing up your dress style to better suit your type and loosening up a bit. Don't hold your potential partner to the same no drinking standard that you hold yourself too. If you are a freshman, calm down. You will grow into a college girls' body, find yourself and then boys will flock to you.
EDIT: PS, I agree with Scilla. You also could just have a drink or two. Most that drink are not alcoholics. You might actually find a drink you can deal with.

They're called SSRI's (Selective Seratonin Reuptake Inhibitors) and your doctor can get you started on them. Everyday conversation isn't as difficult as it may seem. In order to help yourself become better at communicating, say short answers. When the time comes for you to say something, say it, just be discrete. As you become more comfortable speaking with others and holding conversations, gradually start to explain yourself more. Over time, you should improve and be able to hold lengthy conversations.
Force yourself to talk. Dont think too much. Your thinking is not gonna simplify life or give you the understanding of what life is. Everyone goes through it. But at differnet intensities. Why dont you find some kinda job where you need to talk to people. You will get into a habit of having small talks. even its worthless its fun and its part of life and needs to be done in this society.... Good luck dear.... I myself have to improve....its easy to say but hard to implement...but try it. I am tired of my life too...i feel empty.....altho by Gods grace i have everything...stilll....something is missing..

So I suggest go online and read about really weird lives in history, or bizarre tales. This will give you some perspective, so you can get out of your head more when talking to others.

Join a group like Sparkpeople.com to get support from people going through some of the same struggles while trying to find the harmony of being healthy and fit too! There's a book I like called You Can Heal Your Life. Interesting and inspiring! Also, find things that interest you. Walk around your town. Find a way to volunteer in your community. That's the best way I found to make a difference for others and yourself! When you help someone else it'll help you feel good and that's a great thing to talk about! Do some random acts of kindness and notice how good you feel because of it! I know that life is a wild ride and it's easy to sit back and let it pass you by. It's up to you to get involved and make the most of your time here on earth! Read The Secret or watch the DVD, Eckhart Tolle's book A New Earth is fab! If you need help, you have to ask. A parent or your teachers or a church. Take a class for fun if you're not already in school and expand your horizons! Challenge yourself! Do something to make yourself proud! Take some time everyday and get quiet with yourself and ask what is it you are here to do and how can you best do it! I love to see how people react when I do something nice for them just because. It doesn't have to be major, even just a simple smile and hello will sometimes help someone else know that they are not alone on this journey! Open a door for someone. What she exhibits:
- montone voice, somewhat flat affect in that she always seems neutral and shows little emotion but she is easily angered. she exhibits only neutral to angry emotions it seems
- normal to somewhat high intelligence academically
- trouble connecting with many people. she hangs out but doesn't really click with ANY one...
- as a child she said she had trouble describing things, and that she had to work on her vocabulary extensively and had to go to special program for her to learn how to describe things (didn't get into details)
- no brain injury that I know of
- egocentric, thinks she is good at things that she is not and gets upset when she fails

I can connect to almost all my friends but 3 or 4 of them i can never connect and the only way to even talk is to be in the same party just with someone else as the host... this is mad annoying why does this happen and how can you fix it? dont say unplug any thing because we have tried a million times so yeah..I cant connect to some people on xbox live?

How do I avoid making people feel stupid when I talk to them?
I don't know if it's my vocabulary. I try not to be too quick to correct people. For some reason when I'm talking to someone, they feel dumb because of something I say. I have been conscious of it, but I'm still not connecting with people! I don't want to talk down to them, but if I try to be ';normal'; suddenly it sounds like I really am talking down.
P.S. I'm not trying to flatter myself. My boyfriend of 2.5 years actually told me that I do this sometimes.How do I avoid making people feel stupid when I talk to them?
i actually have a friend like you.. =) she always tend to correct me everytime she will notice something wrong..but usually, she always correct me when it comes to my grammar %26amp; pronounciation..funny huh..hehee..but the good thing about her, is that everytime she will do that, she also makes herself look funny..try to do that..just let them feel that you're not being rude, when you correct them..and also always think first before you talk..always render things in a good %26amp; positive way..try to avoid sounding like you're rude or something..and always be sensitive to the feelings of others..How do I avoid making people feel stupid when I talk to them?
Hmm..well you can't help but be smart right?I say talk the way you talk...but don't correct people unless they want to be corrected.I'm sure you will find people who are smart like you to talk to.Its not your fault your so smart..but with the people you think you make feel dumb..even newly met people..try to talk less and listen to them.I usually have very good advice but for some reason I couldn't think of much this time.Hope I helped you.
Be arware of your audience and the vocabulary you are using and don't use words the person you are talking to won't understand. If you are so smart, I'm sure you can be that sensitive.
adults : talk the way you always do, they will respect you
ppl ur age: tone it down a bit, not everyone is as smart as you. ppl may see you as '; a nerd'; or depend too much on you. be funny, it helps
little kids : go ahead and use your vocab, they probably will look up to you.
