Why do some people try to connect having kids to patriotism?

There's all these people who say 'the sky is falling' when it comes to developed societies having low birth rates, how it supposedly will result in western countries being overwhelmed by third world immigrants. If that's their concern, why don't they instead try to educate the poor masses on family planning and on improving the social staus of the women of these poor countries? Then we could more easily work towards managing global population and spare natural resources of which many are in very limited supply. No, you don't fight overpopulation with overpopulation.Why do some people try to connect having kids to patriotism?
I can answer this. Having kids says you love your country and that is all there is to it.Why do some people try to connect having kids to patriotism?
I've heard those type of people talk about having more kids so there will be lots of soldiers for some future war they think will happen when more and more people from third world countries invade the ';white'; countries.

I think that overpopulation is a main reason why some countries have third world status. That's what happens when there's more people than what our natural resources can handle.
I have never heard of people connecting having kids to patriotism, but as soon as I read the question I thought of 1984. The whole have children is a married couples duty to the party. If you haven鈥檛 read it I highly recommend reading it.
I agree with what you said; that it would make more sense to embrace the world population as is and bring everyone up to the same level of intelect.(well at least close to it.) i think that the whole idea od linking having kids to patriotism goes back to war days, especially WWI and WWII. IT was almost like ';look, here's some future fighters for you'; or in post was instances ';here's a generation that hopefully won't have to see what we had to see.';

in modern day though, the idea is more of a passive type of joke than a real outlook.
