I see Youtube videos and people connect camcorders and stream video to iMovie HD! Hw can I do this?

There are so many videos i see and people stream videos straight to iMovie HD with their camcorders! I have an Everio HD camcorder and I don't want to pay for a converter.My converters make the video extremely distorted. Can I stream video to imovie directly? If I can, How?I see Youtube videos and people connect camcorders and stream video to iMovie HD! Hw can I do this?

I think you couldn't do that directly. Maybe the converter you are using is not useful, but you couldn't deny all of the converters.
