MySpace question: How is the best way to connect with people?

I just signed up with MySpace and beyond having asked my friends to join up, how do I 'befriend' other like-minded people and how is the best way to search for them? When I type a word or a few words in the Search bar, it comes up with hundreds of pages of people and I want to reduce that down so it's not so overwhelming!MySpace question: How is the best way to connect with people?
Personally, I think the best way to make friends is through the groups. Search groups for a band you are into, or hobby, even your school name. Once you join the group, you can read the posts and find people you have stuff in common with. This is how I got every person on my friends list that I dont know in real life. I am a mommy, so I am in a bunch of groups with moms of babies the same age.MySpace question: How is the best way to connect with people?

if you just searched for similar interests on myspace.com and you never met these people, are they really your friend? i would suggest meeting people in real life, try libraries or internet cafes, then ask them if they have a myspace profile
